KEY FEATURES
REYNOLDS 725 STEEL FRAME
We only use Reynolds steel for our bikes, as it produces strong and lightweight frames. For the Adventure Disc, we’ve upgraded to Reynolds 725, a higher grade of heat-treated steel for an even stronger ride. You can head far off the beaten track with confidence, and in the sort of comfort only steel can provide.
SHIMANO 105 GROUPSET | 12 SPEED
Shimano makes the best gear components in the world. Shimano 105 is a reliable, lightweight and high performance 12 speed system. We’ve chosen a 50-34 crankset and a 11-36 cassette for a wide range of gears that can tackle even the steepest climbs. Shimano is used worldwide, so you can ride in the knowledge that you’ll find parts and servicing however far the adventure takes you.
HANDBUILT WHEELS - BY HUNT
Even the best wheel building machines can’t match the strength and quality of perfectly tensioned handbuilt wheels, so we’ve partnered with British expert Hunt to offer their renowned gravel hoops. Each set is built by hand to exacting tolerances and comes fully tubeless ready for any adventure.

The perfect bike and brings so much joy every time I ride it. I've owned it for about 8 weeks and I've have done plenty of road and some gravel - the bike is incredibly fun and comfortable on both. It also looks stunnnnnnning. Immy, Julian and Marcel from the London store couldn't have been more helpful. Super friendly, never patronising, always informative, and have offered so much support each time I came into the store both before and after buying the bike. I spent months trying to find the right bike and I am so glad I went with Temple :)
I got my Adventure Disc 2 just before Christmas and I’ve already covered 800km on it. It’s become my go-to bike and I’ve used it as a Sunday road bike, commuter and off-road. Super comfortable, it soaks up the pot holes and bumps of terrible UK roads, with ease, and it’s been an absolute hoot taking off road onto my local gravel paths. I also really just enjoy looking at it. It’s been made beautifully and the Brooks saddle and Hunt wheels really do compliment the old school steel frame. You just need to buy one!
Absolutely loving the bike. Had it two weeks now and have been on some great rides on the weekends. Really looking forward to bedding in and exploring further as confidence grows. Had such a greta experience with loads of help, information and a warm welcome form Theresa at your Bristol store. All much appreciated
Have recently completed the Albion Foundation Cycle Challenge riding from Watford to West Bromwich on my Adventure Disc 2. It was the perfect bike for pot-holed lanes and for climbing the Chiltern and Cotswold hills! The ride was sublime and even on the flat my Temple was able to keep up with fast, lightweight racing bikes. In nearly 70 years of cycling I have never found a bike to be so responsive, comfortable and delightful to ride and it looks classy too!
My son bought a Temple frame recently and knew we would be in Bristol-At 83 years old I felt I should get a new bike-I ride daily and love the disc 2-It shares a place in the stable and will be in constant use-surprised to find local enthusiasts know what it is,seeing I live in a quiet village in Idaho USA-I am thrilled with the bike and your organization. Hi Mike,
Thanks for popping in to the Bristol Workshop, it's always great to see our worldwide customers.
Happy riding!

I rode this bicycle in any terrain. From the muddy tropical Malaysia climate and to the network of highway around here. I feel satisfied with the ride. The build of the bicycle is superb. The steel frame is so sturdy and suitable for heavy weight rider like me. And definitely its a head turner.
I am really happy to have this bike.
Took my new ‘pal’ on a wee weekend adventure to St Boswells via the Granites and a few other assorted hills, tracks and cattle grids in the Scottish Borders so we could both get acquainted - and we had a blast! The Adventure Disc 2 (plus accessories, including the v important mudguards!) is a dream to ride - coasting easily along roads, paths and tracks while handling potholes, gravel and general muddiness with aplomb (unlike me). It's a lovely bike to tour with (nb - only carried a saddlebag this time) so looking forward to more adventures around Scotland in the coming months.
This is the right bike for me and I really appreciated being able to discuss and arrange the options with people at Temple. I do short commute rides around town but also longer mixed surface exploring day rides. Love mechanical 105, love Hunt carbon wheels, love you changed the tyres for me to Panaracer TLR GravelKing SS Plus TLR Gravel and love the 6 week check.
I liked the look of this at End of the Road festival when I saw it and needed a nice all-round adventure bike and this felt perfect. I love it, I took it all over Holland recently and it's a joy to ride, really comfortable but more than fast enough for me on the flats! And I hauled plenty of bags on it so it's strong too, but still pretty light. The mustard colour is amazing too. Love it!
Order placed in October
There was a sale on and Temple sold my bike to someone else Was then offered a different colour one I don't want Was proimised redelivery before christmas I was already paying off cycle scheme for over 3 months before got the bike which eventually arrived in January 3 months late
I love steel bikes and this adventure disc is the epitome of style married to a joyous comfy ride . It has dealt with the nightmare potholes of Devon country lane potholes and always feels secure and sure footed . A bike built to last!
Ordering my bike definitely took a lot longer than I had anticipated. Temple were experiencing delivery issues with their supplier for the front mech of the 105. I felt they could have done a better job of keeping me updated, as they kept saying it would be 2 weeks and then that would pass, I'd email them again and it was two weeks more etc. However, Alex was friendly and helpful.
Putting the delivery to one side, as I feel I got a bit unlucky there, the bike is amazing! The finish is great, and it just rides so nicely. It is such a beautiful bike and everyone always gives me lots of compliments about it.
There were a few snags, very minor things like rim tape sticking out of one of the tyres, but this is being really fussy. I'm also not a fan of the sticker used for the temple logo, looks cheep compared to the rest of the bike, could be done better. The spec for the price is okay, but you're mainly paying for the hand made temple frame, which is faultless. So much thought has been put into the design of attachment points etc, it really can have it all.
The complimentary accessories, like the reflectors, were really rubbish. The included bell didn't even work. I thought it would have been better to just not include them, as it really didn't match the rest of the great unboxing experience.
If I were to buy again, I'd just purchase the frame and spec it myself. You'd probably be able to get a GRX for the same price if you did it this way.
The final point was that I had personally requested they set up the tires tubeless, as I felt it would be easier to pay them, than attempt it myself. Alex offered this for free, however when I received the bike, they were set up with inner tubes.
Thank you Temple for a great bike, I'm overall really happy with it, and will be a loyal customer forever!
Fabulous bike, and built to a really high standard. I've always liked steel bikes, and the Adventure Disc 2 doesn't let me down. Not only great for gravel, but also for navigating Edinburgh's appalling road surfaces. Great service from the team as well.
Nice bike I see a racing green one in your Hackney shop when I bought a lovely temple rack sack pannier stitching has come out on the zip pocket otherwise it’s a great bag
Game changer
What a beast of a ride. Not sure what else you can ask for out of a gravel bike. Smooth as butter to ride and can take on anything. Still super comfortable for commuting as well. No point looking beyond this, plus the Temple team are awesome. Can't recommend more tbh
I love this bike so much
Last year I set my heart on a drop-bar gravel bike to explore the beautiful area around our new home and spent months scouring the internet. All the 'big' bike brands seemed to have endless carbon bikes with strange gimmicks (mostly little wobbly bits!) that meant proprietary parts and (to me) questionable durability. Some of those bikes are cool but none of them seemed to have soul. None of them elicited an emotional response in me at all. When a Temple ad popped up in my Facebook feed I was immediately drawn to the aesthetic and the fact there was a distinct vision for this bike. Even though there are virtually no reviews of Temple Adventure Disc bikes by the big reputable bike mags and sites, I kept coming back to it. The steel frame, the simplicity of it all, the unashamed vintage hipster aesthetics (I have made peace with being a hopeless hipster - this is not a negative for me!) - it just made me happy looking at it. And that's important to me in a bike. So I finally ordered it and received it in December. Having been out on long rides I can say that I absolutely LOVE this bike. Yes, it looks wonderful but it also rides incredibly well. Sure, a carbon bike costing 4K more than this might be 2kg lighter, but this bike is no slouch. It feels fast (enough) and is incredibly stable and comfortable, even on long rides. The attention to detail, the quality of the parts that have been chosen, it all comes together beautifully. Couldn't be happier with this bike.
The Perfect Winter Road Bike Ready for my Long Distance Adventures
I’ve now had chance to ride my new Adventure Disc 2 for a couple of longish rides and now feel able to review it. 1st up, it’s beautiful! attracting admiring looks and positive comments. The build quality and finish is excellent, out of the box it has performed flawlessly. I love the classic looks and design, leather bar take, Brooks saddle etc but incorporating modern, reliable components. I’m a road cyclist and the Adventure Disc 2 makes a fantastic winter bike that will be equally ready for my long distance adventures. Great service from Temple throughout the purchase process too, highly recommended.

Adventure Disc 2
My AV2 is hands down my favourite thing! I received it back in June and have since cycled around 2,400km in total. I've gone on many adventures and explored many new places all across the central belt of Scotland. I am now training up to do a Glasgow to London trip in Spring! It handles beautifully and adapts well to different surfaces and miles glide by like a dream! The build quality is as excellent as it is classy! Could not recommend more highly!
Adventure Disc 2
This is a beautiful bike and a joy to ride!
Temple Cycles have been really helpful and friendly - from giving me plenty of time to test ride a couple of bikes to handing over the new bike. Great to use as a training bike on the road as well as touring and commuting.
Love it!
My Adventure Disc 2 arrived early June and it was certainly well worth the wait. Since its arrival I have done just over 200 miles, mainly roads but also some challenging forest tracks in Galloway. This is my first drop handlebar bike, my old bike being a hybrid Ridgeback. I am clearly no expert cyclist but for me this bike is a dream and I love everything about it.
Feedback
My experience was not great. Having ordered the bike in January, I was very excited when I was notified in February that the bike would be ready for delivery in three days and so I paid. I was then told there had been an error with stock levels and that the bike would not be ready until end of May/early June. When the bike was delivered in June (I wasn’t notified that it had been dispatched), the bike was damaged and was returned. I finally went and collected the bike from Temple’s shop in London a couple of weeks later. All that aside, the bike is great and feels of high quality. I think my experience was unfortunate and probably not the norm, particularly with supply chain issues which everyone is experiencing. Lovely bike….recommend the sage colour. Looks very classy.
A Bike to take me anywhere (Review after 5 Months)
i'm the type of cyclist who likes to have one bike for everything. i don't want to have 3 bikes in my basement and pick out the right one for every occasion. so may it be just commuting to work, bike packing trips or gran fondos with friends or the community.
the adventure disc 2 can do it all for me, sure ... for gran fondos or fast rides it is too heavy to really keep up with the fast riders. but that's just how it is with a steel frame allrounder. i got my adventure disc 2 in january 2022 and since then nothing to complain about (2,000 km). especially on trips with bags on the fork and rear I still ride with confidence every descent in the forest.
I had to repair small things here and there, but because it has a mechanical brake (now hydraulic on latest version) and all the construction trains run outside, it is (well equipped) never a problem to repair everything and soon continue.
i am very happy with my decision, the communication from temple cycles has always been flawless. i did have to wait a good half year for my bike, but that was due to the lockdown in vietnam and temple cycles has always kept me open and honest about everything.
ONE YEAR LATER
I've ridden my adventure disc 2 for a year now and I'm loving it! It's taken me to work every day; on long weekend road rides with friends; and on off road adventures on the South Downs Way, across the length of Wales, and more recently, the Dirty 130 in Kielder Forest.
The quality of the ride is lovely. The 105 group set is so so smooth. I went for a hydraulic disc brake upgrade and they are mighty fine brakes! The frame feels really smooth over bumps compared to my previous aluminium road bike. The tires are great. I haven't noticed any difference in rolling speed on the road compared to the Gatorskin 23mm I was using before. Off road they are great too – perfect for the kind of fast dry gravel you get in summer around Epping Forest.
Overall, having spent about a year wanting to order this bike before doing so last January, I am so happy I did. The Temple team are lovely and I fully recommend ordering with them :) Thank you Temple!
My dream bike
2 months after receiving my bike, I can now affirm that this is my dream bike. The best I ever ride. Definitely lightweight and sturdy, this is the best mix between old and modernity. The components and the colors are perfectly chosen to give it an « old and minimal » look, but without skimping on versatility. Now, I just can't wait to test it on a long bike trip… Thanks Temple !
Adventure Disc 2 - what a great bike
Having had the Adventure Disc 2 for 6 weeks and already enjoyed well over a hundred miles in the saddle, over a wide variety of terrains, I have to say that the hype is justified. This really is the bike that covers all the bases. I've been trying it out on the Sustrans Cycle Route 4 between Pontypridd and Swansea, which includes fast paths as well as rough farm tracks, and it has proved itself to be utterly reliable and sure-footed. I have loved every mile I've cycled thus far, and am looking forward to many many more miles in the saddle, as well as new adventures. It was an additional bonus to be able to order it in limited edition mustard colour, which is just 'bendigedig' as we say in Wales. If I could change the inner chain wheel for a slightly smaller size it would be perfect. As it is - it is as close to perfection as I've ever ridden. Thanks, Temple.
Adventure Disc
I was looking for a more robust and versatile bike to supplement my Orbea Onix. It was with some trepidation that I succumbed to the online ads from Temple. However I can honestly say this is the nicest bike I’ve ever had with a fantastic tight ride and great spec all round. At it looks amazing.
Adventure Disc 2.
I waited a long time for my Adventure Disc 2 but it was definitely worth it.
This is a top quality bike and the ride is superb. I cannot fault it in any way. Thankyou Temple.
Adventure Disc 2
I was looking for a while to buy a British steel bike and having considered a few options, narrowed it down to the Temple Adventure Disc 2. I mostly ride on roads for exercise but was also looking to widen my scope a bit and to use the bike as a means of day to day transport with the eventual aim of going car free. So far have riden about a hundred miles and am looking to riding many more. The ride is so smooth and if you get a lick on, it feels like riding a motor scooter. In a couple of 3 hours rides on the road, I have riden at about 1mph slower than my go faster, narrow tyre road bike which is hardly noticeable but what is noticeable is the comfort of the ride and the lack of road buzz going through your contact points and arms. Already had some comments from other cyclists admiring the looks of the Adventure Disc. Had a very short ride on gravel but really noticed how easily it copied with rough surfaces and I'm really looking forward to some more varied surfaces and more day-to-day cycling.
WHAT A SPECIAL BIKE!
I've just about ridden my Adventure Disc 2 past 5000km! And i've loved every minute of it. The bike is very well built and quite lightweight, for a steel bike. When i have wanted to do some upgrades, james and the gang in the bikeshop were great at suggesting compatible components. Really great customer service! I highly recommend the Adventure Disc 2 for anyone who wants a do-it-all bike, Gravel, Bikepacking, you name it!
