The art of cycling & coffee

rolling into society café

Location: Bristol, Bath, Oxford & Cheltenham

Bikes: Classic Lightweight & Adventure Disc 1

Step inside any Society Café and you’ll find the familiar hum of conversation, the warm aroma of freshly brewed coffee, and now, a Temple bicycle hanging on the wall in pride of place, its clean lines and classic silhouette inviting curiosity. In many ways, it feels like the most natural partnership: two brands brought together by a commitment to supporting independent business and the rituals that make everyday life feel more intentional, including the simple joy cyclists find in a perfect cup of coffee.

At the heart of this collaboration is Society Café’s founder, Adrian, whose love for vintage steel bikes sparked the idea and shaped every detail of the project. The vision was clear, to create a collection of beautiful, high-quality bikes that could hang proudly in each of Society Café’s six locations. Every Society café is designed as a dwelling place that fosters connection, so we wanted our bikes to be a talking point, a unique piece to notice in the space that makes you slow down and stay present.

The collection itself is a mix of our Custom Classic Lightweights and Adventure Disc 1s, each one hand-built in our Bristol workshop. These models are equally at home on a weekend adventure or a simple trip across town, embodying the belief that good design should be as versatile and functional as it is beautiful.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a true collaboration without a few thoughtful custom touches. Each bike is finished with carefully selected details that echo Society Café’s understated aesthetic - the frame is powdercoat painted in Society’s Cafe brand blue, paired white forks and bar tape. Co-Branded decals were applied as a finishing touch that mark the partnership in a subtle, elegant way.

In each café across Bristol, Bath, Oxford, and Cheltenham our bikes have already started to feel right at home. Quietly presiding over customers as they sip away, blending into the café’s rhythm, ready to be admired, discussed, and eventually, ridden. Next time you’re stopping by for a flatwhite, a catch-up with friends, or a moment of stillness between errands, take a closer look at the Temple bike displayed nearby. Like a good cup of coffee, a well-made bicycle isn’t about extravagance, it’s about simplicity and the quiet rituals that make each day feel more magic.
